I switched off my radio alarm in my sleep and slept for an extra 40 minutes this morning. I woke to a dream that I was in some sort of class and we were all singing (and chair dancing) along to "One Night in Bangkok." American Pie was a favorite of late night guitar sing-alongs of my youth, second in popularity perhaps only to Hotel California. Not only is it a good tune, but the enegmatic lyrics sparked much speculation about what it actually meant.

When I was younger I wanted to be a singer. Specifically, a folk singer. My special interest was in the Child ballads, a collection of English and Scottish ballads collected in the late 1800's by Francis J. Child. Exercise physiology seems to be turning out to be a combination of gym class and an algebra class. The second part of each class is a lab. Last week we had to use calipers to take skinfold measurements of body fat on each other.
